CTA aortic aneurysm evaluation

Strengths

pre- or post-stent or surgical evaluation of known abdominal aortic aneurysm. Includes 3D imaging and specific required measurements. If this is for thoracic aortic aneurysm, then use CTA chest (indication: aortic aneursym, NOT pulmonary embolism).

Limitations

If just for screening, use standard CT abdomen and pelvis with IV contrast or consider ultrasound.

Contraindications

1) Allergy to contrast, but we will premedicate patient as necessary; 2) IV contrast will be dose-adjusted dependent upon creatinine clearance.
