MRI thoracic spine without gadolinium

Strengths

for disc disease, subacute or chronic pain, spinal stenosis, paresthesias, numbness, peripheral weakness; gadolinium usually not needed.

Limitations

If concern for neoplasm, infection or in postoperative patient, study will likely need gadolinium: MR can be difficult to get authorized if patient has symptoms < 4 weeks.

Contraindications

Standard MR questionaire as to contraindicated implanted devices, surgery, etc.
