MR arthrography

Strengths

will require fluoroscopic injection of dilute gadolinium. Specify joint. Good for labral or capsular shoulder injury or joint instability. TFC tears of wrist.

Limitations

Specialized evaluation more common for shoulders, wrists or hips. Standard MRI better for first line imaging. Arthrography much less common for elbow, knee or ankle.

Contraindications

Standard MR questionaire as to contraindicated implanted devices, surgery, etc.
